Breast Reconstruction Procedures

Post breast cancer procedures and considerations...

Is reconstruction right for you?
For tens of thousands of breast cancer survivors, the answer is yes.

Perhaps not all women feel the need, but for many it is a critical part of their recovery process.

Many women choose reconstruction because they feel a loss of wholeness, or loss of femininity following a mastectomy. For others, they don't want the hassle or worry of dealing with a prosthesis. Your family and friends will tell you what they think you should do, however, the choice is ultimately up to you.

I will work with you to help you determine whether, given your personal medical history, mental preparedness and emotional state if reconstruction is truly the right choice for you. Your needs, desires and expectations regarding the outcome will also play an important role in your final decision.

  • Medical implants (Tissue Expanders)
  • A combination of both

The actual number of procedures and recovery time will vary with each patient.
